Hard N.O.C. Life

Feb 15, 2019

It a Hard NOC crossover as Desi Geek Girls' co-host (and YA author) Preeti Chhibber joins in on Hard NOC Life to talk about South Asian representation and more!

Keith and Preeti start by praising the new TBS sitcom Miracle Workers starring Daniel Radcliffe and Geraldine Viswanathan, who's also a standout in the crop of films featuring Indian American actresses and directors at Sundance. Then, they break down even more Desi representation including the trailer for Danny Boyle's new movie Yesterday, Hannah Simone's upcoming biographical sitcom, and Preeti's own brother Vinny Chhibber starring in a CBS drama. From there they talk about the potential of a including Ms. Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and whether it makes sense to cast someone like Viswanathan as Kamala Khan. Finally, Keith tries unsuccessfully to pry some Spider-Man: Far From Home secrets out of Spidey superfan Preeti, whose middle grade tie-in novel will be published later this summer.

What's #NerdPoppin this week (30:00): Sundance's A Discovery of Witches and The Lightning Thief musical currently on tour.
